Black & White Collection

The Black & White Collection is a return to Mark’s roots in black and white photography and film development in the darkroom. It’s an exploration into the basics of capturing an image on celluloid. There’s something deeply artistic, yet visceral about a stark image without color. These images are intended to evoke profound emotions. Mark loves to capitalize on the antique feel of a black and white image while making it very real to a contemporary audience. The focus is on shape, form and pattern. Negative spaces are less distracting since color is removed, making the subject stand out from the background, adding a richer depth to the image.
